Too Big?

I have a family with three juvenile black cap chickadees hanging around my deck. This little guy took a sunflower seed and I watched as he looked for a place to break it smaller; he stood on this metal bar for quite awhile holding it with his foot, he seemed confused about how to get it into a position to crack it. I had fun watching him until he figured out how to split it. I think I need to grind up the seeds a little so it is easier for my little birds.

Today was an emotional day, good but difficult. Life is interesting, challenging and good.
