Colour is like music

Although I've been to Venice before I'd not visited the islands, especially Burano which I knew would be blippers' paradise.

On a hot day, the ferry ride and gentle wander round the colourful streets was just what we needed. We loved Burano, the playful, indulgence of colour was just so uplifting.

Happy hours snapping windows with flowers, doors with washing, alleyways with patient old folk going about their day.

On the way back we stopped at Murano, for a look at the glass making, a little purchasing, and some really, really good pistachio ice cream.
