Bastille Day

Tuesday. This is the French National Day.  Many fireworks the night before which I heard but didn't watch.

Just happened to arrive at the point where the band for the morning parade were about to start the procession through the town. They stopped in several places to perform before arriving at the war memorial where a short service was held.  A speech from a local military man and the mayor combined with the laying of a wreath and playing of the national anthem.  It reminded me of the services here on Armistice Day.
