Explorers

I wanted to show you the scene that made me smile when I arrived home this afternoon. The heron chicks had strayed from their nest by walking and by wing-aided leaps, but they hadn't gone far. All five seemed to be watching me as I unloaded the car.

They're four weeks old. I think they'll soon be gone. :(
