Painting of the U.S. Eastern coast

I am in Spain and having a great time, but I might be a tiny bit homesick as this painting of the U.S. Eastern shore is among my favorite pieces of art at The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid. The painter is William Trost Richards and the work was completed in1873. There are of course many European paintings that are amazing, but I was so surprised to see this coastal painting of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
