Too close for comfort
Today has been an interesting day where we did nothing we planned, and several things we didn't plan.
We got recommended a beach not many people know about, so bravely headed off only to be chased off some private property by dogs, go down several dead end jungly paths and when we finally got there, have some stones fall on us from above! We were glad to see a few other people we recognised on the very picturesque beach and left as soon as they did. Then, once we were back at the hostel chatting in reception, I suddenly felt two things hit against my legs and realised everyone else had run out, so quickly followed and realised two dogs had chased a huge iguana in to the corner of the room and would have had it for dinner if one of the staff hadn't dragged them away! Decided to head to the main beach for a swim, and saw some black plastic floating in the sea and got warned not to touch as "they bite"... Not quite sure what bites but we got out the water pretty fast (think the guy was joking as he saw our disgusted faces not getting too close to the plastic). And then after walking to a Zumba class which wasn't on, and finding out the restaurant we originally planned to have dinner at closes early, we walked back from our delicious impromptu Mexican dinner in a heavy downpour of rain, and are now moving bags and setting up cups to catch drips in our brand new room at the hostel.
Eventful but also very exciting, fun and beauty filled day! Can't wait for sleep!
