Dinner with a smile

It wasn't really the weather for cottage pie as it was boiling when we got in, but it needed eating up so was scoffed with a smile.

Leo had a school friend around after school so it was mayhem when we got home. We all got stuck into our now traditional after school basketball competition. It involves us all taking turns to score baskets, moving back a patio slab each time. The final slab is quite a distance so you need to be feeling strong to emerge victorious. Ian won tonight but got taken down a peg or two by Leo who reminded him of his 40 year advantage!

I spent the evening wrapping Leo's pressies ready for his birthday on Friday. Ian is heading to Cornwall for a two day session at our campus there on Thursday and we were worried he would miss Leo's entire birthday. However, whilst he won't be there for birthday morning he has managed to wangle a lunchtime finish in Cornwall so should make it back for a birthday tea. At the moment Leo is asking for a Pizza Hut visit - could be worse! Last time we gave him a breakfast choice we ended up in McDonalds!
