Milestones Museum, Basingstoke
Today was the annual trip organised by Seaford museum. This was the first stop - a brilliant museum, which, unlike ours, is spread over an enormous space.
It recreates many of the local industries of the past - gas works, saw mill, steam engines, paint works etc, plus beautifully restored vehicles (see extra blip), shops, as above, and very detailed living rooms of successive decades. I'd recommend a visit if you're in the area.
We went on to grab a very quick lunch before seeing an under-croft on Guildford High St, originally below the house of a very rich merchant. Finally we went to Losely House, near Guildford for a tour of the house, a wander in the extensive gardens and an ice-cream (speciality of the place).
