Rue Frédéric Mistral

We wandered out into the streets of Avignon again this morning. Marian dipped into some shops as we made our way up to the Rue de la Republic towards the Palais des Papes and le Rocher des Doms for the view over the Rhone and the Pont d’Avignon. I’m not posting that view today as I hope I might have a better shot tomorrow.
 
It seems to be even hotter here in the city than it was at Bargemon where we got an occasional breeze and we could cool off in the pool. Instead of eating at a pavement café we went for a first floor climatisé restaurant which gave us a little relief for an hour even if we missed the atmosphere on the street.
 

After yesterday’s fun blip I’ve gone for a view of a quieter part of Avignon. This is the Rue Frédéric Mistral, which is a side street just off the main shopping street.


We've just watched a recording of the Bastille Day fireworks from Paris last night. I don't know if it was shown on your news but it certainly was a spectacular 30 minute show.
