Should I jump?

Sadly it wasnt 3rd day in a row (for the family of ducklings). Link  There was no sign of any of them today.

But a little further along was a Moorhen with two chicks.

All were a wee bit nervous when I got my camera out (I've heard that before !). 
So the mother promptly upped, walked off, jumped in the water and swam off.  This left the two little ones deciding what to do.
The one nearest eventually went for it, but its sibling was happy to try to hide under the foliage.
