Regeneration!

When the last bar in the village went into rapid decline and finally closed last year, it was a matter of grave concern not only to locals but to those dependant on the tourist trade.  For a time, there seemed no interest and a few brave souls finally put their heads above the parapet to organise a community buy-out if all else failed.

But to everyone's delight, a buyer came forward to take on the business as a going concern.  Today is opening day and we are witnessing a transformation, a regeneration Dr Who would be proud of.  The decor, the staff uniforms, the comfy seating areas,  the menu all raise our hopes that this is so much more than a 'mere' change of management. 

 To find ourselves actually excited by the opening of a cafe/bar/grill shows how important a part of the village Eden Lodge has been in the past and is going to be, as Felicity's, in the future.

And by the way, our lunch was yummy!  Can't wait for coffee and a scone tomorrow and dinner in the near future.
