Just Boone

How do you name a dog?

When I was a child on the East Coast of the USA, it seemed like dogs were named non-human names like Lucky and Buddy. My Uncle had 2 Great Danes named Scotch and Soda. Lol
A friend in the mid-western part of the USA said that they always named dogs human names like Jack and Susie.

I recall discussing what seemed like a hundred or so names before we picked Boone.

“Daniel Boone ( 1734- 1820) was an American pioneer, explorer, a woodsman, and a frontiersman, whose frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States”

Daniel Boone is a favorite from our childood – he always seemed ready for adventure, ready for a hike.
Boone seemed like the right name then and now I couldn’t imagine a different name.

He is just Boone. :)
