She's Out

Our beloved Mountain, Mt Rainier, showed herself today and for these eyes it had been months since I had seen her. One can actually believe in nice weather for a few months once she is visible. What a mountain reigning over our city and region! My mother who grew up in the state of Washington and skied the mountain before the war, worked in the summers at the lodges and concessions, schooled us 4 "kids" that there truly was only one mountain, our Mountain.
