Accidents happen

I came home this morning to find this little smashed egg in the seed tray underneath the House Martin's nest.  Shame! Accidents happen when you lay your eggs on the edge but, on the plus side, it's probable that this is the birds first attempt and things can only get better.  I wonder how many others are there to be incubated.  It's tempting to get a ladder out but I will contain my curiosity and hope some little heads appear in the near future.
