Distractions
Nearly a no blip day. Picture taken on Ruth's phone shortly before midnight. No bed for her in physio rehab yet but she has been moved to a quiet young persons ward where she has her own room. A few tears tonight as some of the 'what ifs' began to surface but she's been very good at distracting herself. Today Skype brought her a few visitors from afar but tonight it was my puzzles magazine that provided some distraction. I have not done puzzles like this for over thirty years but 11 hours of hospital visiting is a lot of time to fill!
The day started with a Social Services meeting where surprise, surprise, we were told that our situation does not meet the criteria for any help from Children's Social Services. We've already been turned down by the Children with Disabilities dept - Ruth just became an adult and gave them a get out. Now to try Adult Social Services ..... which is where we started in the first place ... 3 months ago!!
Thanks for all the messages of support. Amy suggested we put all the names of friends who have contacted J & I with messages of support in a Get Well card for Ruth ..... what a great idea :-)
Ruth might be in hospital for another three weeks ..... :-(
