Molde Jazz Festival
This morning the ship docked at the delightful town of Molde having crossed the Arctic Circle through the night. The past few ports have been noticeable for their colourful houses which break up the otherwise black and white scenery as very few flowers flourish in the strange conditions when half the year is in darkness. Molde, however, was positively blooming and everywhere you looked were both cultivated and wild flowers. I am not sure if the town is always like this but certainly every July the town hosts Moldejazz, one of the oldest jazz festivals in Europe, so I guess the floral displays are part of that.
While in the town I took advantage of free wi-fi in the tourist information office and was thrilled to receive a photo of the twins, both in their high chairs, holding hands and with no sign of any oxygen equipment. My son has returned to the US and the rest of the family are booked to return at the end of the month, all being well.
