In the lovely Royal Burgh of Edinburgh that I am privaledged to stay in there is always a community event going on, from cardboard box races down the canal to Folk Festivals..

This was was the annual......DUCK RACE!!! On the contrary to (my) popular belief they do not race real ducks (queue thoughts of mallards working out to the Rocky theme)...but they are in fact rubber ducks! They release them all into a wee river/steam that runs into the Loch and..no prizes for guessing..the first one wins!!!

I am delighted to hear from the organizer (who also by the way has a fantastic moustache) that to date they have raised over £23,000. An incredible achievement so a massive well done and thanks to all involved.

My friend and I took her children along this year and they loved it, I know this shot is probably a bit naff, I know its dark and a bit "noisy" but I just loved the look on her wee boy's face..

A friend of his from school had shouted "I CAN SEE THE FIRST DUCK!" and he turned and shot him this look...I am not sure completely what he was thinking..but it looks serious.

Sadly we didnt win the duck race..but we did have a fab time..even though I think I stood in dog poop trying to get pictures. Ach well.
