A working forest

Lots of people hate to see a view like this but I find it intriguing and encouraging.

A working forest is no different from a working wheat field.  It is a sign of good husbandry (usually),  it has been the place where a successful  crop has been grown and hopefully will be again , it speaks of the bounty of nature and it provides jobs.

This forest is above Loch Striven, and down below it is the spot where the barges have been coming to remove the timber  and take it over to Ayrshire for use by the paperworks in Irvine.   I blipped that at the end of May.

It could perhaps look a bit better if it wasn't still raining in Argyll as the ground everywhere is sodden and people are beginning to talk about this being the worst summer in living memory.  Lets hope nature proves them wrong and that the sun starts to come out.
