Koi .....
..... carp.
This evening after a great training session on the moor, myself and Spartan went for a wander around the tarn to see if we could photograph the ducklings. It was about 8:30pm by the time we got there and although there were plenty of ducks on the island in the middle of the tarn and a few swimming on the water there were no ducklings in sight.
I took a few shots of the reflections in the water and Spartan shouted over :
" Mr John, come and look at the fish ".
Spartan had been joined by another chap and the pair of them pointed out a HUGE Koi carp in the tarn. The other man explained that he had been aware of it being in there for at least three years, but tonight was the first time he had seen it. We watched the koi slowly swimming just below the surface for about 10 minuets. At one point a duck swam nearby and the fish almost looked as if it was hunting it. The koi was much bigger than the duck and looked very well fed. I just hope that the ducklings were sleeping out of sight and havn't become fish food.
So today's blib is .....
Koi carp.
