A gift from autumn....

As long summer days depart and dewy mornings arrive, rose petals begin to fall as the fruits of the rose plant start to ripen, known to us as rose hips, they are a gift from autumn.

On tippy-toes and over the fence, I zoomed in on my neighbours roses, thankfully he hasn't got round to pruning as yet - they are my shot for Mono Monday's theme of autumn this week.

We woke to -5C and again no hot water until mid-day. The day was beautiful and clear with lots of sun but the temperature only reaching single digits, 8C.
