Rhine swimming start point

The safe swimming zone for swimming in the Rhine in Basel stretches 2 km, from the Tinguely museum (pictured here) to just beyond Johanniterbrücke (where I live, which is pretty handy!). The hard core swimmers will do a few laps in an evening and walk all the way but I tend to take the bus the first time round to the start point for maximum swimming time.

The water temperature is displayed along the banks. It may be 23 °C in the water but it peaked at 29 °C in the lab today! All my experiments are running a little faster.
