Reception
Not long back from the Opening Reception for this year's West Cork Literary Festival . We help to run it each year, a lot of things going on in Bantry Library, where I was tonight. A strong and expletive-laden launch speech by the author Carlo Gebler , one of his points being that he saw an indication of how far the level publishing has dropped being shown by the current massive attention to the publication of Harper Lee's book tomorrow, rejected for publication fifty years ago. Maybe he has a point. Some splashes of colour there tonight, a relaxed atmosphere, but a busy week ahead.
