Race for Life

I am one of the lucky few.

*Touch wood* I have only been affected by cancer once - through my good friend Mike Mitchinson who lost his battle with Prostrate cancer on 24 August 2011.

Today I ran for him, for his battle, for all the times he can never run again.  I ran with tears in my eyes, and a mind filled with happy memories of my friend, and the stories he told, the life he lived, and the friendship we had.

The course was a little short of the advertised 10k, but I won't hold it against the organisers, I had a good run.  AND, if it had been, I might have broken my sub 60 10k - I worked it out that it would have been 59.23 (going by my average speed.)

It was a good day!
