A Nothing Day
Despite predictions of horrendous snow dumps and 80 kph winds, the day turned out to be rather more boring than that. According to the local weather station the winds DID get up to 50 kph with gusts to 76 kph. The snow DID persist on and off all night and all day but never really settled into anything recognisably picturesque. Temperatures were typically Blue Mountains for a downbeat day at this time of the year. They ranged from a low of -0.8 degrees to a high of 2.5 degrees. Right now it is 0.4 degrees although given the wind chill factor it is reckoned to "feel like" -8.7 degrees.
The above picture was shot from my front porch and typifies what we saw from our lounge room window most of the time. We usually DO get some pretty snow dumps at some stage during winter but in spite of predictions, this was never going to be one of them. Nonetheless, it was far too cold and miserable to actually GO anywhere. A nothing day really.
