More rain expected!

So I mowed the big field today to beat the storm. Naturally, it was big news for the local wildlife and they showed up like crazy. The swallows were diving and pairs of butterflies twirled in a flittery dance. (They could have been sparring. So hard to tell in matters of the heart.) Midway through I uncovered the domain of a chipmunk population which, I'm very sorry to report, did not go well when a good sized hawk made his appearance. He waited until I was mowing a south facing row and made his move. Poor little guy never dreamed the Air Force was in town.
Our 4H fair is this week, an event I will make sure to attend. Cows are being shown Tuesday.
