BIG trees

Just off the Mt. Baker Highway is a grove of BIG trees -- never touched by a logger's handsaw or chainsaw. Using the standard unit of measurement, the GK (grandkid) this Douglas fir measures approximately 1.5 GK's in diameter. It would take about 6 GK's -- joining hands -- to encircle it at the base. The view looking up is most impressive. But, without a frame of reference an up trunk photo doesn't demonstrate the massive size.
