Berlin #Day2

So many highlights today - absolutely loving Berlin. The list included...

...Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church and the amazing new "blue" church next to it.

...Getting the hang of the S Bahn and the U Bahn - brilliant system.

...Checkpoint Charlie - a bit "disney" as one local described it but worth seeing.

...The TV Tower - incredible views.

But the highlight was a wee surprise for me from my OH - a trip to Platz Der Luftbrücke near the old Templehof airport, where there is this amazing memorial to mark the Berlin Airlift of 1948. My Dad was in the RAF at the time and was part of the radio operations team who guided the UK planes in and out. He always treasured his medal for being part of that humanitarian mission and it felt incredibly poignant to stand there today.
