Beautiful color and texture seen by the stream...
July 4th - After a walk around Houston and Grosman Ponds at Cornell's Arboretum we wandered through the wet grass by the stream of theTreman Woodland Walk - we saw Spice bush, Goats Beard, Tradescantia, Groundcover Clematis, Astilbe, Woodland Ferns, many shades and textured foliage of Hostas, Azaleas, a few remaining Japanese Candelabra Primroses, and the new growth of the Willow Tree that is 70-80 years old (it had to be cut down - trunk left on the grass as a feature - because it had become a danger to those walking under it), also many types of Woodland Ferns and boggy loving plants - July 4, 2015. In the evening we walked around Myers Park and drove around the backroads. We saw Mr. Hatfield's Haflinger horses and his one Morgan horse enjoying munching on the sweet Clover blossoms that carpeted their paddock. I'm including as an extra for today a close-up of one of his Haflinger's munching.
