Picnic in the park
Today we went to Saltaire to meet my friend Adam, his boys and some of their friends. It was his son Leo's birthday on Wednesday, so we had a birthday picnic for him. It was a little breezy, but nice. Lots of homemade food - we took a red pepper tortilla (spanish omelette). We walked there and back on the canal and river. Robert's Park in Saltaire is lovely. It has the bandstand above, where there is usually a band on a sunday throughout the summer, a cricket pitch, playground, skate park and the river which runs through it.
On another note, Dude seems to have suddenly become the noisiest cat ever. He just 'chats' with us now. At first we were worried and thought he was in pain or something, but he doesn't appear to be in pain, or hungry, or need water, or want to go in/out of any closed doors... he's just found his voice at the age of fifteen. He's also found a tiny space under the bed, on top of the plastic storage boxes and amonst my pyjamas and partly warn clothes that are not ready for the wash. He squeezes himself in, curls up on my clothes and starts purring. Earlier, he kept meowing at hubby and headed upstairs, waiting periodically to ensure he was being followed. He got upstairs and went straight into his new hiding place - I swear he was just showing hubby his new crib.
