Crossing the Alps

Strange that to reach the sun and warmth of Milan from a (yet again!) cloudy and damp Edinburgh we had to cross the snowy Alps with the beautiful glaciers and lakes-lovely views.
Started the day with a big scale planning discussion and a surprise bump into JonathanP and Alexis...never expected to see them here. They're apparently off to Rutgers Uni soon....
Arrived at the hotel in Milan....unfortunately nowhere near the centre and a rather soulless place. Dinner was tasty (see extra) but realise it was a mistake not to bring bite cream and anti-mosquito stuff, and some rather waspish views expressed too!
