Dunoon

The choice of Dunoon was pretty random. Being a bit cheesed off with the damp, rain and the midges, we just wanted somewhere closer to home for a couple of days in a hotel. A short hop across on the ferry from Tarbert to Portavadie and a wee drive over Cowal to Dunoon. If I'd thought of it at the time, Rothesay might have been a better choice. Still, the ferry from Dunoon to Gourick will get us home pretty quickly. 

Dunoon's best days are certainly behind it although it's fine for a mooch about the town, the amusements, a bit of swimming for the weans while I mind the mutt with a beer and a book.
