Leaf cutter bee

Thanks to Ms quizzical I found out I had a leaf cutter bee nesting in my garden. This is not a hive bee and does not produce honey but still feeds on pollen, so is a great addition to the garden as I know some of you wanted to know the difference. It produces young by collecting leaves and packing out the nest, enabling to lay. The lavra hatch out in autumn , which over winter ready for the bee to hatch out. They work on there own, as yet I only have one in the nest and this bee has worked so hard. It's been making this nest since yesterday, so first thing this morning I checked it out , just in time as the finishing touches were being made. 10 minutes later the bee was gone and has not returned since. I thought you would like to see a close up of the bee at work, shaping the leaves, fascinating . I will be certainely watching out for the hatching.
