A Murder of Crows
OK...they're ravens, but who doesn't love the appellation for a group of glossy black birds. These cackling creatures are gathered in an Alaskan Weeping Cedar or Xanthocyparis nootkatensis 'Pendula'. Also named as Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Pendula', Callitropsis nootkatensis 'Pendula' or Cupressus nootkatensis 'Pendula'. Although this type of tree looks like it's on its last legs, it is quite a healthy specimen. Whenever I see this tree, I call out, "Hello, Grandma!" and it waves its graceful branches back in the breeze.
Today, Thursday, was day 11 with Brutus and the gang. Getting as bright pink as a traffic cone! :-D
