Pasture Patterns and Prayer Flags

The pastures are very beautiful around the Armabayasgalant Monastery (see extra photo), dating from the 12 century, which survived the 1930 socialist purges of the invading Russians. There are a few monks there now, keeping the Buddhist traditions alive for the nomadic people of the surrounding district.
