Leith eider
Somateria mollissima
Every spring, the eiders come to Leith Docks and the Shore. There are seldom many ducklings, I suspect that there are a lot of young, unpaired birds. The drakes are magnificent with the contrast betrween their black bellies and wings, cream backs and pinky white breasts, a black cap and an olive green nape. A very noble Roman profile, too :)
They spend a lot of time diving for mussels.
Use embiggenification for maximum ducky pleasure.
