Lace?

Another roadside plant that turned out to be lovely! I love the shape of the flower clusters and the individual little flowers. It is so delicate and.....eatable! Yes, it is part of the carrot family and the roots are supposed to be good. Here is what the internet said: "Early Europeans cultivated Queen Anne’s lace, and the Romans ate it as a vegetable. American colonists boiled the taproots, sometimes in wine as a treat. Interestingly, Queen Anne’s lace is high in sugar (second only to the beet among root vegetables) and sometimes it was used among the Irish, Hindus and Jews to sweeten puddings and other foods."

A friend came to visit and we had a wonderful walk in the park and then shopping for awhile.  It was wonderful having my friend here for the day. We had heartfelt talks and decided we couldn't solve the world's problems....it was nice.

Extras are different angles of the Queen Annes Lace.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my recent blips.
