Hosing the Yard
Well it was another massive frost this morning but a brilliant blue sky and sunshine to follow.
I spent a good part of the day in the garden until my brother-in-law arrived with his gun to put down my pet sheep Paddy because over the last few weeks she had become very sick and this morning she looked so bad I decided it was time to say Goodbye to her. Very sad but it had to be done.
Peter had a busy afternoon sorting out cows who are close to calving. These ones get trucked back to their owners so that they can calve at their home farms. The cows make a big mess while standing in the yard which is hosed clean with a high pressure hose. In the "öld days" we used to use buckets of water and big brooms...thank goodness, those days are gone.!
All the dairy farmers around us are becoming busier by the day with calving started or about to start.
