Agios Nikolaos Day 7

A sad day, because it's our last in Agios Nikolaos. What to do on the last day in the place? Nothing special, as it happened. Carl went for his regulation morning swim at our local beach, while I headed in the opposite direction for breakfast and some photography.

It was a prefect day for the camera, and I ended up with a really good crop of sunny images, from which it's been very difficult to choose just one. Even in the camera, this one had taken my fancy, and I found myself coming back to it as I went through the results of the day, occasionally wavering towards something else, but finally plumping for it anyway. It's a typical Agios Nikolaos view, since there are steep steps everywhere, many a good deal steeper than these. But even as an image in its own right, I'm really happy with it.

We met up at Arodo bar, which is tucked away up some steps (naturally enough) on the seafront road where the posh hotels are. We'd stopped there a few days ago and had liked it. It was even nicer today, and its balcony was a perfect place to sit back and savour the sunshine and the view. After a few drinks there we went on to one of the restaurants on the not-so-full-of-themselves side of the lake and had really nice food.

The usual siesta, then out for our final meal. We ate in The Sailor, a spot on our local beachfront which is highly regarded for its mussels but also turned out to be well able to serve up a gorgeous plate of eastern-inspired food for me which consisted of eggs cooked in a fantastic tomato sauce. And so our final night came to an end.
