Dog Rose.
I decided that I wanted to find something other than garden shots for today's blip. With that in mind after tea I went for a run drive round looking for something to capture. of things caught my eye but there seemed to be Wild Roses everywhere.
Those of us of a certain age probably remember taking Rosehips to school and being paid a few coppers per pound. They were then taken to be made into Rosehip syrup (still available today) which was a good source of vitamin C in those immediate post war days.
Others may remember that if you split the hip open and used your thumbnail to scratch out the tiny hairs that line the case, they then made a very effective itching powder.
