Poppies

I seem to have a lot of poppies growing in the garden this year!  
Goldfinches have just discovered my new niger seed dispenser.  They spent ages pecking at it this afternoon as I was reading my book under a tree nearby.  The book was recommended by someone who sold it to me at a car boot sale, called The Hen who Dreamed she could Fly, about a personal journey of a courageous lonely hen called Sprout, translated from Korean.  A lovely read in the sun.
