Congratulations!

The reason for visiting Madrid was to be on a PhD viva committee. The candidate was successful, as you can see, and her PhD supervisor "dressed her up" in the orange cape and tassly hat. Quite the thing - although not for 40 degree heat.

Luckily we were indoors most of the day. Unsurprisingly few other photographs of note were taken that day.

My hotel entry was also quite banal.
