Three Ways
This doesn't look anything special really, but in terms of Yorkshire waterways, it is.
All rivers in Yorkshire flow into the Humber estuary and virtually all of them do so by draining into the River Ouse. They say the "Great" Ouse is in Cambridgeshire, but up here we tend to have a different opinion.
This image is at the three waypoint just North West of York, where the Rivers Ure and Nidd join up with the Ouse to head for the sea.
This morning early was glorious and good friend D and I were treated to a stunningly calm and sunny view of one of our favourite spots. He for fishing, me for, well, you can guess.
This was the first outing of our newly-formed two-man breakfast club (at a local farm shop), taking in this walk first. We hope it'll develop into a series through the seasons. Watch this space.
Here ends today's geography lesson.
