Sometimes I think that DSLRs are overrated. In particular they (all of them) suffer from vibrations due to mirror slap immediately prior to shutter release. Under most circumstances pictures can't possibly be as sharp as they might have been if there was no crashing and flapping mirror involved. Cameras like the G12 avoid such movement and can more fully realise the potential of their lenses and sensors.
