Along a country road

I took the grandgirls back to their home today..a 3 hour ride one way.  As we arrived around lunchtime,  I decided I had time to come home on a back road that I have never driven.   I found a North Carolina State Park, stopped and did a one mile hike down to the New River..then I had to walk back up hill.  It was worth it..see the extra for my favorite shot from that walk.

 Even though it took me almost 5 hours to get home from that location,  it was worth the time...I do love riding on country roads in the mountains.   You just never know what might be around the bend in the road. The second extra is what caught my attention and caused a u- turn to occur!   I love the mountains!
