It's our first time to meet each other. Wonderful for us all. Armfuls of grandchildren. Stories about the horrible three-layer fence being built in Arizona to keep immigrants out. If they climb over the first fence, they are trapped by the second and the third. Incredible heat, killing heat. If they survive that, they risk being thrown into trucks and left in the sun with no water or air for the rest of the day. If they survive that, they are either dumped back in Mexico or taken to jail. 

Shared horror. Shared compassion. And shared gratitude for technology that keeps families together when they're apart.
