Cockermouth
A day of sunshine and showers!
We got soaked on a short walk this morning, then the sun came out and it went really warm!
This is a view of All Saints Church, Cockermouth. In 1395 Henry Percy endowed a church here, said to have been the most beautiful specimen of Gothic architecture in the North of England.
This was replaced in 1711...
It burned down in 1850, and a third church was built in the early English style...
The spire reaches a height of 180 feet!
There is a stained glass window as a memorial to William Wordsworth who was born in Cockermouth, and was baptised in this church...
