I spy something beginning with V.
It is the unexpected which makes blipping such fun.
Out early this morning for a photograph of a flower on Arnside Knott. Blip seems sorted.
Then to a friends house for coffee and looking through her French window this little Bank Vole suddenly pops out of a hole in the wall.
They are in fact fairly common unlike their cousin the Water Vole which has been in very dangerous decline. This one lives in hollow walls and makes passages in thick vegetation to keep itself away from being seen by predators.
I was lucky to get a shot as they are rarely still. In the same area my friend sees a tiny shrew but they move at lightning speed and getting a picture is very challenging.
