Day 2: Practice

We had  areally early start to leave Oxford and get to our park and ride from Hinton Airfield. Despite sailing through the non-existent rush hour traffic, we spent an hour and a half on the bus getting to the circuit from the airfield. We arrived just in time to see the end of the first practice session; my first time seeing F1 cars in real life! The hype around the quietness of the engines is all true, especially in comparison to the GP2 and GP3 cars. It was still amazing to see them zooming round. We found some seats in one of the stands that gave us a great view of the circuit, and conveniently positioned next to a corner where drivers kept spinning off. We sat and watched all the races and practice sessions of the day, and had a wander round the site.

We got back to the airfield much more quickly and found our rather strange home for the next tow nights. After a farce of a dinner in the local pub featuring an uncooked pizza we head back for an early night before and even earlier start in the morning.
