Kids in the trailer

Had a wonderful visit with old friends, their two daughters and sons-in-law, and their four grandkids!  The sun hid behind the smoke in the sky for most of the day, so it wasn't quite as hot as predicted.  The kids had a great time exploring in the forest and entertained themselves so well while the adults talked, and of course the rides in the trailer behind the lawn mower was a hit as usual!   The dads had almost as much fun driving the lawn mower.  (one extra).   Great to catch up with everyone!
Our granddaughters are quite a bit older than the grandkids of most of our friends who are around the same age as us.   I'm glad because I'm not sure I'd have the same level of energy to be as active with them as I was when they were younger. 
Woke up to a strange sky and the smell of smoke.  The smoke from forest fires on Vancouver Island is affecting us here, and we barely saw the sun all day.  I wish it were hiding behind clouds instead of smoke.    The extra was what it looked like out our window just after 9:30am, and it was much darker than usual for a few hours.   Extreme drought conditions, extreme fire hazard conditions, extremely worrisome!
