Water doodles

The labor of love that has kept me focused for a few weeks turned out better than I imagined it would. Very large paper poppies and hand-cut paper lanterns adorned the tables at the 90th birthday party of someone I love dearly. Of course I didn't haul my big camera to take decent pictures of it, did you HAVE to ask?

Even the mess-up of thinking that I booked a hotel close in town where everyone was camping but instead booked one across the Chequamagon bay, turned out to not be an issue, especially after Mr. M excitedly informed me that they serve a free breakfast buffet. Access to the all-important morning coffee is just a short walk to the lobby.

Setting up the tables and decorations took no time at all thanks to many helping hands. The party itself was fab, with incredible food and the best Minneapolis DJ money can buy, except he did it out of love because he is the grandson of the birthday boy.

Out on the deck by the water's edge, I chatted with a photographer friend. We were discussing cameras and shooting water when I noticed these gorgeous little squiggles on the surface, caused by the boat masts and the pier ladder. What a surprise that they even showed up in the picture. The fireworks over the water were beautiful, close and very loud. Nope, I don't have good pictures of that either. The PSLOML sidled up to me as tight as he could and held his little ears, saying "woah" over and over.

Now I shall rest. I shall rest for a day, and then I shall start on the next thing, which is to organize my digital files and then those of my client, so that I upgrade my computer. Maybe I'll start on it right after I publish this.
